Pizzeria Barbarella
« on: May 02, 2011, 05:38:38 PM »
Finally signed the lease for my new pizzeria in Vancouver, BC. It's taken a long time to find a good location as our original location fell through. I'll start renovating this week. The pizza is going to be a neapolitan/ny hybrid so I wasn't sure which section to post in. It will be a 50 seat restaurant with 7 or 8 12" pizzas on the menu and I will be making all of my own cured meats as well as the fior di latte. I am hoping to open by June 15 but it's going to be a lot of work.

Best wishes and success for your new business! DO show us some of your work as time allows.
What kind of oven are you going to use? Deck?

Congratulations, I wish you the very best. I know the frustration when a location doesn't come through. Keep us posted please.

Nice to see you back Terry. Congratulations on the restaurant. Did you end up getting an SF oven like you were planning?

Congrats Terry!
Are you moving from Abbotsford or is this an expansion?  Looking forward to hearing about the new place and what sounds like a new pie too.
Good Luck

No, I didn't. I am going with a high temp electric oven.

I sold the place in Abbotsford and we moved to Vancouver.

Good luck on your new venture.  I would love to see more on the cheeses you make.

Sounds great, good luck with it. :)

My sister was in BC for a year, and we really enjoyed Vancouver when we visited her there. If I ever make it back one day, I'll be sure to visit.

Hey Guys,
I thought I would update everyone on how things are going with a few photos. We should be ready to go in about 3 weeks.

Yeah, Woodstone but it's not in yet. I found the mixer on Craigslist! It was being sold by a 2 for 1 joint. I couldn't believe they had it.

Maybe the photo was confusing. The earlier photo is of the bar area. This one is the pizza table area.

I like those bulbs. They will look really nice in the dining room exposed like that.

Looking good man!  You're going to love working with the forcella.  Is it single or double speed?  Looking forward to hearing about your progress.
