Wood roasted fish
« on: July 16, 2011, 02:33:31 PM »
The weather in Canada was perfect. Low-80's and mostly sunny. The fishing was great, and I had even more fun being out with the boys. They caught tons of fish. We're generally catch-and-release, but we kept a couple for shore lunches. We grilled lake trout and bass over an open fire and made trout rolls - imagine a lobster roll with fresh grilled trout instead of lobster.

It is so incredibly beautiful up there. One morning, the lake was just like a mirror.

Where in the vast Canadian wilderness were you? Looks a lot like the northern Ontario region, but that kind of area can be found a lot of places up there.  We are heading up to a place called Lake of the Woods tomorrow for 4 or 5 days.. except we are looking at mid 90's on a small 2 acre island without electricity.... it's going to be awesome!!!  It always it, no matter what happens.

Craig,

Those pictures are awesome!  :)  It looks so beautiful and serene there.  What a great experience for you and your boys.  Those fish sure look delicious too.
