brick oven making part II
« on: April 18, 2013, 01:52:35 AM »
hi this is in continuation of my previous post where i had displayed my brick oven construction at each stage, until now i had make the dome with brick, fire brick for the hearth and red sand it vas pretty sticky. i had fired the oven and next day gave it a insulation with silver foil and covered it with cement and let it cure for a week and started my pizza party it was fun, it was a nice experience as brick oven is not common in india so the learning curve was pretty curvey ha ha ha
now am trying to learn heating techniques as i felt that i had used too much of wood for making just 15 pizzas,
The oven i have made has 30 inch hearth, internal hight is 16 inch , rectangular opening hight is 10 inch by 13 inch, before placing the bricks for the hearth i used 1 inch of salt for heat insulation had to go through lots of videos go get this configuration hope its correct,
any suggestions or opinions are welcome
