Thanks for posting this, very sad. Loved this group! 30+ years ago my wife and I seen The Manhattan Transfer AND the Nylons in concert one summer. Simply perfect, awesome music!! One of the few guys that could ALMOST pull off the pony tail on a bald head thing....almost, glad he cut it off :-D I was just listening to some of their stuff the other nite, TIMELESS to say the least. Here's one of my favorites from the Nylons. Anytime I think of either group, I automatically think of the other too!

My brother had a Manhattan Transfer LP when we were young, "Tuxedo Junction" maybe (is that the album or a song title?). I think I listened to it more than he did. Their vocal stylings were fantastic. Hate to hear of any of these great artists passing. While their works are timeless, humans are not. I am 49 years along, I expect to see a lot of folks I have enjoyed listening to move on in the coming years.

Yes, Tuxedo Junction is the song name.  It was a large hit for Glenn Miller around 1940 (no I don't remember that, wasn't born yet  :-X  ), but not written by him, it was Erskine Hawkins.  I don't remember it before The Transfer did it.  You grow!

I also have a Nylons CD, believe it or not.  Think I got it after seeing them on some talk show, early on.  Guess I was impressed, that doesn't happen often!

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live @ Luther Center:  Two Step
I love all the acoustic variances of this song.
Prost,
