lumpynose,
I am aware of only two errors in all of the dough calculating tools. One is a decimal place error for diastatic malt in the expanded dough calculating tool and the other is in the stuffed dough feature of the deep-dish dough calculating tool. With the hundreds of data points, I am surprised that there weren't many more errors.
Boy Hits Car volunteered to do the programming of the dough calculating tools and we spent months working together to bring them to fruition. We also "beta" tested them with some of the most knowledgeable members in each pizzza specialty area before they were rolled out. We got some very good inputs from those members and they were incorporated for the most part into the final tools.
I even remember when Boy Hits Car volunteered to do the work. It was in Reply 32 at
http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,3399.msg28963.html#msg28963. I remember it because I almost fell off my chair. I think he was the last member to actually volunteer to do some work to help the forum. We get many requests and ideas for improving the forum but no one wants to do the work or help pay for the improvements. This is an open, free, not-for-profit forum where no one gets paid for anything, so nothing really gets done without volunteers. Just about everything that one sees on the forum in the way of tools were prepared by the Moderators or Steve, the owner and Administrator of the forum, and by Boy Hits Car. Another member, November, contributed the tools at
http://tools.foodsim.com/. He owns those tools, not the forum.
