geodesic brick oven
« on: July 04, 2006, 03:00:07 PM »
I've started work on my Geodesic brick oven. For those who are interested here's a link to the page with tons of illustrations over on Forno Bravo.

I've got the design more or less done, and have started to cut the firebrick triangles that form the main dome. As far as I know, this is the first geodesic form brick oven.

This week's photos are not exciting as last weeks, since I'm pouring the footings for my oven. You're welcome to take a look over at forno bravo:

Pouring concrete is litteraly a pain, but a good foundation for a brick oven is a necessity.

I've not been posting anything here for a while, because I've been involved with building the footings and the masonry base, which is hardly pizza related.

When I start putting the oven together, I'll get bck with more pics.

I also must say, it's admirable how open you are to allowing us into the entire process. I would be way too self-conscious of my own work. Of course, what you're attempting is perhaps light-years away from most would ever attempt. It's a real humbling challenge... man vs. brick. :)
