Neapolitan pizza dough, cooked in a high-heat, wood-burning oven, topped with Nutella and a few dolops of whipped cream? I was really surprised not to see any topics about that on here.

Well, I hate to be Mr. Obvious, but it is to die for. Perfect with a good espresso to top off a margherita or three. I will have to snap a few pics and post them here the next time I make it.

They have it on the menu at the Neapolitan Pizzeria 'Amano' in Rdgewood NJ. I've also enjoyed a pear based Dessert pizza in the past,in Italy.
It sems that Nutella is to Italians as Marmite is to the English and Vegemite is to Australians.

Nutella is definitely a staple for us Italians. But I think that it has a much broader appeal than marmite, et. al. It's chocolate for goodness sake! Who doesn't like chocolate?

Combined with the crispiness of the pizza its like a giant, squashed, warm Ferrero Rocher. Is there love greater than this?

I was first introduced to Nutella on a trip to Switzerland... and was ecstatic to find that it is offered in American grocery stores... usually in the peanut butter/jelly section... at least out here in the Pacific Northwest!! The label says it turns a slice of bread into a piece of chocolate cake, but I say.... to hell with the bread, JUST GIVE ME A SPOON and I'll eat it straight from the jar! DH and I aren't big dessert-eaters (we'd rather sate ourselves with dinner!) but a Nutella pizza would certainly push me over the edge! Thanks for the great idea!

BTW, "me step-faw-thah" is a Brit who lived in Oz for over 25 years... so I figured he would love both Marmite and Vegemite... "OH" he says... "They are WAY too salty for a proper diet!" Cracked me up, he did!

Nutella rocks, although I've never made a dessert pizza with it.

At our Costco it is in the same section as the jellies and fruit spreads. Good stuff!!!!

You guys just gave me a brilliant idea: A reese's pizza (nutella & peanut butter). Might be a little messy to spread, but probably worth it.

Fabio, this is one that I have tried. It really turns out great. Instead of spreadding the peanut butter I just drop it on in little blobs.

I'm going to make one tonight. I'm thinking I will bake just the shell, then spread on the peanut butter, and sprinkle on some chocolate shavings. Maybe I will crumble up some reese's just for fun. I will try to get a pic and post it here.

Hi all....I made a Reeses peanut butter cup calzone three weeks ago. I just chopped up some RPB cups and put them along with some mini marshmallows in a calzone. I brought it into work and people were a little skeptical at first but it was a big hit and everyone loved it. Next time I may try a Snickers calzone.

After, otherwise both the nutella and the whipped cream will break apart; not a good scene.

Pears in syrup, Nutella and pralin.
