I have a KitchenAid Pro 6 and am having problems with it. I read the other posts on here and have searched the net but cannot figure out how to dissemble the planetary mixing part. I saw at mending shed that they had a service manual for the tilt head mixers. But it appears that it is not the same to get at the Pro 6. If anybody can help with getting to the pinion gear I think that may be whats stripped. Since my mixer turns but as soon as the flour goes in the bowl it no longer turns.

Speedy, go to the KitchenAid site and you will find a forum there.  It is heavly moderated but you will get an answer probably from a guy named Jim that knows his stuff.

I found this

I have not found one anywhere. Here is a link to an exploded drawing of the KP2671, but that is the Pro 6 without spiral. They don't seem to have one for the KP26M1 Pro 600.

Thanks for the link Randy. I was on the KA forum all morning and it looks like several people have had the same type of problem but all that is ever posted is call customer service. So I called customer service and they said u can send it in and wait 6 weeks, or drive to Dallas Angry . Not sure how to proceed. Will try and post and maybe Jeff will get back at me.

Villa Roma,

Thanks for the help. I still can't get the dam thing apart. If anyone knows an easy way to remove the retaining clips please enlighten. Huh???

Speedy

They make a special tool called snap ring pliers to remove the retaining clips. You can get a pair at Sears or an auto parts store. You may be able to spread the ring with a small screwdriver or other tools. Good luck and let us know what you find.
