thanks, will order an 11-12" peel then to make it easier to get the pie in without losing too much heat
The 14.5" pizza stone kits that BB&B sells come with an 11" peel. I've somehow ended up with three of them and they are useless for most of my needs. Wish I could just hand you one. Not sure why in the world they put an 11" peel in a box with a 14.5" stone.  Roll Eyes

So for those who have this oven, how is it feeling after use? Does the cycling of heat seem to be affecting its strength or color/finish?

Because those "kits" are Made in China! In other words, it's crap.

I'd rather invest in some imported European and well-known American brands than buying anything from stores such as Bed, Bath and bull%$#&, Target, K-Mart or Macy's. Not to mention Williams-Sonoma and Pier One.

The few dollars more, you'd have to dish out, are well worth it.

Is anyone still using these ovens? I am wondering about the longevity of them. We bought one back in March of this year and we love it, however with all the use we are giving it we do wonder how long before it burns out. The quality of it doesn't seem to be great but it sure does turn out some great pizzas for us. We did manage to get another on EBAY just in case our original burns out but the new one came with the top oven glass shattered and we are trying to find someplce to get some high temp glass to replace it with, local places will only garuantee their glass to 500 degrees. So if you bought one of these and have been using it long term please let me know how well it is holding up for you. Thanks
