http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,7178.0.htmlI would nominate this one as an excellent ambassador for the site because:
a) The pictured pies were baked in a regular home oven, and are thus heartening to those who can't take any extraordinary measures (tricked-out/esoteric ovens, etc.) to make their own pizza.
b) The technical level of discussion alerts the reader to the fact that the site isn't peopled by blowhards repeating hearsay, half-digested notions, and the like, but by serious and knowledgable aficionados and experts, inspiring confidence in the site.
Just a week before I discovered the Forum and saw that thread for the first time, over drinks a brother of mine and I were discussing the shocking, across-the-board decline of local pizzerias and whether it would even be possible to make a decent pie at home. I recall at one point saying something like: "perhaps at this point it's best to just let the pizza we used to get fade into memory and move on to something else". Seeing that thread made me realize that making it myself was possible and inspired me to give it a shot, and it may have a similar effect on others.
