Is there a website where I can type the address and it will generate a traffic/residence count within a certain mileage of the location. Huh???

Thanks.

I don't know of anyone who has set up such a site for you, although it is technically feasible to do so. Perhaps someone else can point out such a page for you. There are realtors that have this data set for select cities. The obvious sources for this information are the Census Bureau/StatCan. And a lot of cities also compile these stats for each neighbourhood. In addition to some Google searches, try calling your realtor & the Census people & see if they can point you in the right direction.

For a start, this is the kind of information that is readily available:
http://factfinder.census.gov/home/saff/main.html?_lang=en
http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/ACSSAFFFacts?_event=ChangeGeoContext&geo_id=16000US5363000&_geoContext=&_street=&_county=seattle&_cityTown=seattle&_state=04000US53&_zip=&_lang=en&_sse=on&ActiveGeoDiv=&_useEV=&pctxt=fph&pgsl=010&_submenuId=factsheet_1&ds_name=ACS_2007_3YR_SAFF&_ci_nbr=null&qr_name=null&reg=null%3Anull&_keyword=&_industry=

toadietoad,

In parallel with your effort here, you might also want to register and post your question to the members of the PMQ Think Tank forum at http://www.pmq.com/tt/viewforum.php?f=6. However, my recollection is that a favorite source of data, much of it free, is Melissa Data, at http://www.melissadata.com/.  As an example, look under Zip/City/Phone and Zip Code Demographics at http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/index.htm.

Another possibility is http://www.demographicsguru.com/.

As mentioned above, I think a realtor is your best bet for accurate local counts for individual buildings...

At least that's where I would start.

In theory, http://www.wolframalpha.com/ is supposed to serve exactly this kind of data mash-up.

Assuming it's in town, not in the country, contact the city where the street is located.  If the receptionist can't direct you to the right person, ask for the Planning Manager.  They should know the traffic load or be able to get it for you.
