OK, as most of you know I've been searching for that "perfect" sauce for years now.  Is it the base or the spices?  Back and fourth I've gone.  Well, I finally convinced our local pizza joint, The Pizza Factory to sell me a case of their base.  It's obvious repacked just trying to figure out what exactly it is.  I definitely don't think it's Stanislaus since the ingredients are "Vine-ripened tomato's, salt and basil."   Hence, no citric acid.  Here is a pic of the can and the only code is on the bottom of the can which is as follows:

5TS3 B
D220G  1246

Anyone know what it is???
Let the experiments begin!

That's what I do. I buy a case of Sam's club pizza sauce from their cafe area and bastardize it to my tastes, and it isn't a bad sauce as it stands alone, very good basic sauce. Freeze it up in 2 cup batches in ziplock bags and freeze them.

the bonta line would be without citric acid . their non prepared pizza sauce contains basil, i think salt and that maybe all . if the product doesn't say fully prepared chances are they thin it and ad their proprietary spices . .i think bonta is escalon packing .

Right on all counts.  You can find the Bonta Escalon product at the PennMac website.

I don't think it's Bonta.  I know they do not cut the base with water.  They just add the pre mixed spices from their headquarters and also I've tried Bonta and it is VERY thick(tomato paste basically) and this is not.  Any other ideas...??

It must be ground in.  Can't really see much.  It's definatley not leaves like in Stanislaus products.
