I'm looking into new stand up mixers and am wondering if anyone has used or worked with any of those two and could give me a quick low down on them.

The Hamilton Beach Commercial 7qt Mixer

The Cuisinart 7qt Mixer

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-SM-70BC-7-Quart-12-Speed-Brushed/dp/B000ON65XO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1258609126&sr=1-1

The Cuisinart has the more powerful motor but I'm concerned about its durability. I'm willing to give up a couple of 100 Watts if the Hamilton is the better choice. The price difference is about a $120 in favor of the Cuisinart.

Any thoughts on this or experiences with those two you could post would be appreciated.

Basically, I'm looking for an early Christmas gift to myself  Grin

Great video, Andre!

And thanks for the input.

Got a question, though. Does the Cuisinart 5.5qt come with a spiral hook or a "C" hook? I'm looking to get a mixer with a spiral hook.

Essen, I know its not on the list but I would have a look at the KA 600Pro. I know there where alot of problems in the earlier batches but im pretty sure they have all that ironed out now.

I have used mine regularly for all kinds of jobs but mostly Pizza dough, and as you can read from some of my posts I dont baby it one bit. I like all the attachments plus its a fairly simple machine. The KA customer service is supposed to be good but I have never needed them.

The only bad thing about it is you cant do small batches. Probably the smallest would be 2-12" pies, maybe 1-16"or 18". But I dont need batches that small anyway so its great for us.

Whichever machine you choose dont baby it. You dont want it to go out after the warranty is over, if its going to fail you want it to happen while its under warranty.

Its a good machine with a spiral hook and has been problem free for me. I would buy it again without question. I would not purchase any of the smaller ones though.

Andre,

Thanks for the info. Someone also mentioned the Bosch Universal mixer to me, so I guess I have to do some more research.  Huh???
