A while back my wife ran my dough hook and my paddle through the dishwaser.
As many of you know those parts are not dishwasher safe on the KA. After dealing with the constant oxidizing and and general nasty gray crap that gets all over everything. I was tired of it.
About a month ago I was having trouble seasoning a cast iron skillet when it dawned on me. Why dont I season the attachments also.
So I cleaned them well with a green scrubbie and washed them down with soap, then a good solid rubdown with alchohol and wiped clean with a microfiber towel. I coated them with canola and threw them in the oven with the skillet at 360.
The first coating didnt add much but after the 3rd it started to get a good sheen to it. Its works well now and cleans up much easier. Things also dont stick to the parts much at all either. I dont know if its dishwasher safe yet but I am going to add a few more coats and try it out. But right now im happy with the performance.
