After rave reviews from the recipient of another kitchen knife gift I gave, thought I would post this up in case anyone is looking for one. In fact, at these prices, these could be almost be considered throw away or camp kitchen knives although their quality is on par with those costing many times as much (think of a few German names here which use the same steel in some of their lines). Mid-High category steel, great heat treatment, good - very good edge holding and sharpenability, and these always arrive shaving to scary sharp. And did I mention cheap?
One thing to note is their weight. Many high end kitchen knives are quite hefty while these range from mid to light so if one likes a heavy chef's knife these may not be your cup of tea. Still, for those types like boning or paring where heft may not be an issue these can fill the bill. And did I mention cheap?

For any another tech heads: The Knife Center link above is showing the Classic line in 420C steel but these have been made with Krupps 4116 (actually X50CrMoV15) for the last few years. So unsure if they just never updated the site or poss have old stock left over. Either way, still a bargain.
Fun stuff: At the Spec Pro Cold Steel website above they include a video for all their current offerings inc the kitchen classic series, which is long and sorta boring until the end where they show sharpness and abuse as they always do to demonstrate their claim of the "sharpest and strongest knives".
I have owned these for so long can't recall when, love 'em, and have delighted many others with them as gifts. Guess I have been getting off pretty easy at these prices, so don't tell anyone.
