Ive been busy this smer and not posted much. But I want to tell you what a fantastic job you did on your oven !! magnifico!

Oh by te way I just so a beautiful used Corvette for $8,000 with like 22,000 miles on it and just turn the key

only kidding that oven will be around much longer and at $10 a pie thats only 800 pizzas!

yes brick and mortar but go easy now, I got a new toy this year with a bit of chrome on it.
between eating all the pizza and getting an engine (no more pedals) on my bike things are expanding around here quickly

Here's how the ribs turned out using the Minion method recommended by carbon. I added a smoker box of apple wood as well. I cooked at an almost steady 275 for 4 hrs. Just awesome! Thanks carbon!

Steve do you use a drip pan or do you let the juices and fat run on the hearth?

I've been working on the oven some more over the last few days. I completed the stone veneer on the base. Next, on to the enclosure! I'm having trouble with my camera lately. I'll post pics when I can. Or Norma can, next time she comes over.

Here are a few shots of last weeks work. Note the cool old cast iron pieces I recently picked up. I think I'll have these sandblasted and paint them in grapevine colors. They will be attached to the stucco upper enclosure.

Glad to see you got your camera problem straightened out.

Your work you did last week looks fantastic.

Good old Addison at market had those really neat old cast iron fence pieces. I am still thinking about buying at least one to put somewhere, but I sure don’t know where, because they sure are heavy. I really think they will look cool, when you place them on you oven. Just looks Italian for some reason with the grapes and leaves. Can’t wait to see your WFO when it is finished with the cosmetic work. It will be “one of a kind”.

Yes, at some point I plan to build a patio, probably with cobblestone or some kind of pavers and maybe some trellises for grape vines. Funding is a major issue, being out of work for nearly two years now, so that will likely take some time to complete. It's really a small miracle I was able to build it at all. Thanks honey!

I saw that my chimney pipe was cracking, as I thought it might, so I've decided to replace it with Duratech double-wall stainless, insulated chimney, before I build the enclosure. The area on top of the vent isn't big enough for the anchor plate, so I'm going to cast a manifold to suit. I'm a little concerned about the "cold joint" between the arch and the new work, but I guess it'll be ok. I plan to drill some shallow holes and insert tapcon screws halfway in to help anchor the new casting. I'll also probably anchor the plate right in when I pour the cement.
