Cleaning out the WFO
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:43:05 PM »
I've enjoyed reading all the posts here regarding cooking pizza in a WFO.  I was wondering how often do you completely clean out the oven?  Should you leave some ash in there for next time you fire it up or should it be completely cleaned out with ever new start?

Thanks - Marianne

I do it each time after 2-3 days of cooling off. I also use the residual heat almost everytime the next day to cook a roast, ribs, stew... the oven is still 300+ at 10 am next day throw a brisket in and at 4 pm you have a beautful dinner everytime. free heat and minimal dishees to boot!
