Hi,
If this has already been done then please point me in the right direction.
There are two things that I know well. Computers and playing drums. On other forums, I use the name wizarddrummer.
I have taught both of these disciplines.
It's been said a picture is worth 1000 words. I would assume a video is worth at least 1,000,000
I've read only a small percentage of the information here, perhaps 500 posts on this forum and related links from this forum to other sites.
I would like to see a section with stickys that has links to small bite sized videos that teach some of these techniques that I read about.
The reason for this request, is that due to the nature of forums, many of the older posts get buried and the same or similar topics come up again and again.
I've read about dough dripping off of tables. I read it but I don't quite get it. I'm a hands on; need to see it kind of learner. I used to throw the insidious UNIX manuals against the wall because after two pages of high brow gobbledygook they didn't give one clear EXAMPLE.
I'd love to see some training videos developed that illustrate things like what bad fermentation looks like.
Vids on how to fix problems and what problems can be fixed.
The difference between a dough that has a low % hydration vs a high % hydration and how they bake side by side. They don't have to be elaborate or fancy ... just informative.
Perhaps some videos on preferments and poolishes and how they are incorporated into the dough
Videos on sauce preparation.
If you took the topics of the 30 most frequently asked questions and turned them into video instruction it would save a lot of repetitive answering; at least I think it would.
The videos might already exist, except there is no index for them at the present moment.
I'd also like to see some videos regarding cooking temps and oven placement.
For example, I am totally confused about oven placement. I'll start a separate thread about this after this post but, it would be nice to see the results of people that have years of experience.
Just a suggestion...
