Sad story
« on: November 08, 2010, 12:31:56 PM »
I had family over last night, and of course they wanted pizza. I had 6 balls of dough, one for each of us. Since it is freezing here in Boston I am making the pizzas inside and running outside to cook. On pizza number 3 I almost dropped the peel running, and I said to myself, "wouldn't is suck if I dropped a whole pizza?" I made everyone's pizza, and then I went to make mine. I still have some piennolo tomatoes from the garden hanging in my kitchen, so I made a filetti. Perfection. I go to slide it onto the peel, which was propped up on my stove (handle end), and the peel falls out from under me with pizza in tow. All over the floor. People felt so badly for me - I was more embarrassed than anything - and gave me slices from their pies. But I really wanted that filetti...

that happened to me (well not me), but it was not the last dough, and it was my uncle, he tried to get it in mid air, he got burned so bad...

The samething happened to me. I was using the peel from forno bravo which has the curved front so there is only like an inch on the edge of the table. When I went to slide the pizza onto the peel the side caught the dough and flipped over and I had pizza on my shoes... :-[.

I thought I was going to be able to make pizza outside when it was winter time but I made pizza last week and the dough started forming a skin because of the wind and cold.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!  ;)

That stinks. Happens to all of us eventually.

But you fed all the people who came over for pizza!  :chef:
