Whole Foods Pizza Dough
« on: December 10, 2010, 06:19:58 PM »
Anybody else use the pizza dough from Whole Foods?  Living in the Midwest I probably don't have a very good idea what true NY style pizza tastes like but I really like the dough from Whole Foods.  I live about 2 hours from the closest Whole Foods so when I go I buy 4-5 doughs and when I get home I vac seal them and freeze them.  The day before I am going to make pizza I will take the dough out of the freezer and put in the fridge.  About 2 hours before I am going to bake them I put them on the counter top to get a little closer to room temp.  The pizzas turn out great.  So good that my mom asked if I would make pizzas for our family Christmas dinner.  :)

This March, while my wife and I were visiting some friends in Atlanta, we ended buying some dough at Publix.  The dough was usable and I ended up making a few pizzas that night.

Thank you.

I'd like to see Andre Berto or Floyd Mayweather next for Manny.  No old Shane or Marquez 3.

My mom told me that she would rather spend time with the family/grandkids instead of being stuck in the kitchen cooking all day.  I agree with her that quality family time is more important than the meal so I told her I would cook and my pizza is what everyone wants.  Plus it doesn't take hours to prepare so nobody will be stuck in the kitchen all day.

BTW, that pizza looks great RoadPizza.

I use fresh dough from Trader Joe's on occasion.  I think they're pretty good.
