NYC-NY Style Submersion
« on: December 15, 2010, 01:11:52 PM »
I am planning my annual Sliceapades trip to NYC...a day where I eat nothing but NY Style, grandma and sicilian slices as a way to pummel my senses and keep tuned to these styles. None of the more upscale styled pizzas I often frequent when in NYC.

I will have a date soon, likely late February 2011.Would be fun if some of you all are able to meet me at a stop or two.

Current itinerary, subject to change:

Famous Rays (West Village)
Bleeker Street Pizza
Joe's
Pizza Box
Pizza Booth
Ben's of SoHo
Saluggi's (Tribeca)
Ray's (Prince St)
L'Asso
Two Boots
South Brooklyn Pizza (East Village)
Stromboli
Vinny Vincenz
Muzzarella
Artichoke Basilles
Mariella
Gino's East
Little Luzzo's
Patsy's EH
Sal & Carmine's
Sacco Pizza
Lazzara's
Bravo
2 Brothers
Pizza 33
Gotham Pizza
Maffei
NY Pizza Suprema

Head home!

If you're in Brooklyn you might want to give Tomato& Basil a try.

DMC....I really like tomato and basil.

The trip will be manhattan focused due to time constraints

PB

If you are in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn you might want to give DelMar a try.  It's a good version of N.Y. corner pie even though it's in the middle of the block. :-D

Won't necessarily eat an entire piece at each place....like a wine tasting in that regard

So you're going to swish a bite around in your mouth and then spit it out?  :(
