Merry Christmas - a Poem
« on: December 22, 2010, 10:15:11 AM »
24 TO 72 HOURS BEFORE PIZZA MAKING

'Twas some time before pizza making, when all through the house
Not a creature was kneading or stirring, except for Chau.
All the forum members starters had been feed, they had read the last post, and it was time for bed.
Visions of San Marzano tomatoes, a bag of All Trumps and a real WFO danced in their heads.
When from the kitchen there rose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
I hid just short of the door and peeked in to see, 4 men in the kitchen doing pizza stuff-- you'll see.
It was Marco, PFTaylor, Verisano and Peter no less.
Marco was hand crafting a real wood fired oven along the kitchen wall. With ash and clay that he brought, from Mt. Vesuvious.
Verisano and PFT were talking about Raquel, they each had a batch of dough in bulk sitting on the counter, as well.
Peter was sitting at the table, his laptop plugged in.  He had answered nearly four posts already, when a message came in on his pizza phone.(like batmans batphone)
The room grew deathly quiet, and Peter kinda squirms, then Peter said with a smile, "Its no big deal, just a newbie bastardizing a preferment term"
With a quick laugh from all, their pizza work all done, it was time to go, they had to much fun.
More rapid than eagles their coursers did come.  They whistled and shouted and called them by name;
Now Caputo! Now Biga! Now KASL!
On ADY! On IDY! On cake yeast and Bosch Universal Plus!
On Mozz! On Parm! On Diving Arm Mixer and Oliera!
I jumped back in bed, knowing it all was a dream.
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard them exclaim, ere they drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Wishing each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year -with love and pizza making success -Jet.

Jet_deck,

That was a great poem. I got a big kick out of it. You were very clever.
