Hoping someone here remembers the original Ben of Ben's Pizza at West 3rd and MacDougal. Ben sold the place back in the 80s. The place looks the same, but its not the same. Ben made the best scilian on the planet. There were/are successor places opened by Ben or guys who worked with and could approximate the receipe and process.
One was in Park Slope, Brooklyn corner of 3rd Street and 7th Avenue, and the other is still in opperation in SOHO on Spring Street, called Famous Ben's Pizza of SoHo. While a favorite of Madonna in the 80s, and making great pizza, its not the original.
Anyone know of any other Ben desciples? Anyone know how to contact Ben or relatives of his?
