I took my wife to mozza over the Christmas break we had off and must say it was very disappointing. I ordered possibly my classic favorite, prosciutto and arugula, my wife got the breakfast pizza. Egg, Yukon gold potatos, and bacon. The place was super dark and I think too cool for its own good. I'm sure Mario batali having his name on there doesn't help. I didnt realize the seating was more new York style and the restaurant very small but that's okay, we love new York.
Anyways, the pizza, I mean there is no passion in that pizza it seemed. The sauce didn't taste to me like dop San marzano, nor did it taste like the crust had proper time to ferment, or their starter isn't too tasty. Not sure which. The breakfast pizza was fun and different but mozza could never hold up if they were in classic Margherita battle. Wont be going back again
