Yes, I have had this style of pepperoni at pizzerias around Pittsburgh, so maybe its a Pennsylvania thing. I have come across crumbled pepperoni, but only in large 5 or 10 pound packs at wholesalers. The good news is that it's very easy to duplicate this at home. Go out and get yourself some good quality stick pepperoni, chop the stick in a few pieces, then put them in a food processor. I spin for 10-15 seconds and it comes out just like I remember from my youth.
