380 V or 220 V commercial oven

Hello everyone!

Could you help me to understand the difference here.
Two electric deck ovens of same dimensions one is powered by 380 V and another by 220 V
They both reach 500 C temperature.

What is the difference here and what is a better choice ?

I want to run a very small pizza bz from home.

380v is something you will never get in a residential location

In many parts of the world 380v is industrial strength three phase power. I assume from your question your are located where 380v. is available. In the long run the 380v service will be more economical although you may have to run some new wiring to accommodate the three phase. That is something you and an electrician will have to work out. What part of the world do you live in? If its the states and you want to run the biz out of your house you probably wont be able to go over 240V as that is the max residential voltage in US.

I live in China. 380 V is available in my building ( refrigeration room just beneath my apartment ).
Electric company agrees to extend the wires to my place and the landlord has no objections.

Going into trouble with 380 V will cost me 400 $, which is approximately the price of the oven.

Is it worth it?

not really.  if it will run 220, i would run it.

I suggest you calculate what the annual power consumption difference is going to be between the two voltages taking into account how many hours a day, week, month the oven will be operating. Even though the kilowatt usage between the two seems slight in a years time it adds up. Talk to the supplier of the ovens and ask them which they recommend.

whoa! timeout. STOP! Let's just take a breath here and think this over. Your wiring rating should be over your amperage draw, you were told you have no headroom. You intend to operate a high draw appliance, close to 7000 watts per hour, with barely standard wiring? I have no idea what the electrical building code is there but your breaker and wiring should be 10% over the current draw in that dedicated circuit.
