I was just wandering what size TV you have? 120" and how did you get it into the basement

John, actually only 36" (old style - not even a flat screen)

I'm trying to compensate with a big oven...

Not to rain on the parade,will you put up some carbon monoxide detectors?I read a horrible story about a retired police officer,working on a gas powered generator in his garage that was attached to the house.He and and his wife both passed out from the gas and died from it.The fumes built up inside the house from the garage,and killed them both.

I dont know if your wfo will put out noxious gasses like a gas engine would,but do be sure you all will be safe,even if you run a vent outside.

Thanks for the concern Bill. It's actually yet another thing I had not thought about. My garage is not attached, so I don't think it too much of a concern for people in the house. Also, in addition to the massive vent (10") the oven will have, I have multiple exhausts already in the garage to try to keep things a little cooler in the summer.

Craig, chicken parm, I have had my homebuilt inside my house, permitted by the town btw, running for about 5 years now. I have co detectors in that room and two in the main house. They have never gone off. I rarely set off a smoke detector about 10 feet from the oven when I am getting a draft going. Craig, is the 10" pipe what was recommended? Mine is a 7 and drafts great. BTW congrats on that oven! -marc

did you ever make the last 6" move? i was thinking a couple of floor jacks might get it done.

Thank you. No, I have not yet. I don't think it will be a big deal though. I have a 5K hand pallet jack at the office. I'll build what is essentially going to be a very thick pallet to fit between the bottom of the oven and the hand jack, so I can lift it an inch or so and roll it the last few inches.

With proper ventilation and air draw... you should be fine. I mean... Restaurants do it all the time!
