I got the WFO into her final position this evening. I was going to build an overengineered cradle and use a pallet jack, but then inspiration hit - if I'm going to use a pallet jack, why not just use pallets to lift it. With a little reinforcing, it worked like a charm, and saved me $100. The forklift company also refunded my charge after the ordeal (and fixed the damage to the lawn too), so the whole move cost me a total of about $25. One of the quotes I got was $1500! Praise God.

This weekend I hope to get the ventilation designed and the parts ordered.

Unlike the Tool Man However, I didn't have to go to the emergency room or do any unplanned repairs after.

I had a bit of a "Jackie Tran" day yesterday (By this I mean frustrating, unexpected delays in oven construction).

No sooner did I think I would have everything I needed to vent the oven next week and be burning wood by Memorial day, I was informed that one critical piece was backordered until the frekin' end of June.

MetalBest 6/12-12/12 pitch roof flashing (12 1/8" opening).

I might have found a line on getting one quicker. Hope to know tomorrow.

Any luck? If not that is a pretty simple piece for a skilled sheet metal worker to make, and I would assume there are lots of shops in the Houston area that could have one for you in no time.

Yes, good news. I was able to get one ordered today and there is an outside chance I'll have it on Friday. I'm not going to hold my breath; Tuesday is probably more likely. I did some test fitting and final positioning last night. I'd like to say I think it will be pretty easy once I get the flashing, but nothing has been as easy as I would have thought so far.

Craig - I asked my husband about his plans for the pipe fitting, and he said he'll just take the vent piece with him and see what is recommended. Ours is definitely smaller than yours! Your setup makes everything in ours look like a miniature.

I got the impression that he had not thought of that issue yet, and doesn't want to address it yet

We're still figuring out stand height and insulation...
