Please help me pick a name for roving pizza business using the Little Black Egg, setting up at local special events and occasionally doing lunch at different locations across my county.

I want the name to reflect the theme of the "business", which will be transient.

We have a Nomad Pizza here in NJ a mobile truck mounted oven, and a copy of the Big Green truck. so the LBE is going on tour? Small outings 1 pie at a time right? Planning to deal with the health Dept. or run stealth?

One pie at a time, yeah. Probably make a batch of 20 or 30 skins and sell them between $8-10 a piece for a regular or Margherita, then a couple other specialty pies that rotate from time to time. When I'm out, I'm out. Close up and go home.

I'm leaning toward Farmers Markets on the weekends and maybe a few different vacant lots here and there in high pedestrian traffic areas.

I'm planning on going to the county to find out exactly what hoops they want me to jump through and then figure out what the fines are and weigh the costs of both and make my decision about going stealth or not.

Sorry I did not vote yet,I'm kinda blah on those names.Just being honest.Cannot really pick any just yet.
Vagabond isn't bad,but its missing something.Not too many to choose for the words that describe that moving style of pizza.

Tumbleweed is the name of a Texan/Mexican style steakhouse brand here in KY,so not sure if that fits pizza too well.At least not to me.

I thought of a few...

Nitro Pies or Pizza
Valhalla pizza
Roaming Roman's
Highlander's Pizza..there can be only one.(My favorite one)

Just a few ideas to throw your way.If you are set on the ones in your poll,I will think a bit more about what to vote on.

My wife suggested the Tumbleweed one... as is 'rolling along like a tumbleweed' hooking up with the transient theme. Not my favorite, but she's trying to help, so I gotta honor that.

Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate you taking the time to write them down. These are my thoughts on them... none of them really fit the ideas I have for this mobile pizza business. Not saying I don't like any of them. I do, but none of them work for this project, in my opinion.

Like I said, though, thank you very much for taking the time and effort to respond!

Ron,thats the good thing about throwing ideas around,it can help create new ideas and themes as well.

I do like the Tumbleweed idea,but since its known as a steakhouse in my area,its hard for me to remove that idea from meat to pizzas.Maybe in your area it can work if its nor a norm there?

Ron, I also didn't vote yet. I'm not to hip with the vagrant/ vagabond choices. I like the idea about never knowing where your going to be next, but vagrant/ vagabond make me wonder where you have been. Like maybe they slept at the city dump last night.

Thanks to everyone who has voted and gave their input so far.

I'm planning on going up to the county courthouse to find out exactly what the limitations and regulations are. The guy who was going to join forces with me and take Central and South Austin says he talked to a bunch of folks at the farmers markets yesterday and the City of Austin, in their all-knowing and all powerful decision making, has sent out a royal decree that you MUST MUST MUST have a trailer to be a mobile food vendor - which neither of us can afford at this point since we're both unemployed and doing this to try and make some extra cash. I'm hoping Williamson County isn't infected with that self-importance.

We'll see.
