New Guy looking for IR thermometer recommendation
« on: September 01, 2014, 03:10:10 PM »
Hello,

Can you recommend an Infrared thermometer and a link to buy?  I recently (yesterday) ordered ordered a Blackstone and am waiting for delivery at Lowe's.   Thank you to this site for all enthusiasm and help.

Hi Ralph,

I have one of these from Harbor Freight. It's done pretty well for me.  It measures up to 950F or so.  There are no doubt better ones out there but this is relatively inexpensive and seems to work well.

I just bought this one a few weeks ago, it was on special for $14 but even now it's still cheap at $20.  I haven't used it yet but a few people from here bought one so they may chime in on how it is working

I got the Nubee from Amazon. I have used it to measure stone temp for two bakes.  Seems to work fine.

I also purchased the Nubee from Amazon.  I used it on several items; pizza stone, grill and my smoker.  It works perfectly  :)  Also tried it on my wife when she was having a Hotflash but at the moment she did not appreciate it.   :-D

That's a "brave" move fire-and -smoke.  Saw you are from Yardley.  I went to Pennsbury HS.  Small world.

Ralph

It is a small world!  Did not grow up here though; moved here from Philly/port richmond section 22 years ago.
