uncooked canned tomatoes?

One more question for today: is there such a thing as uncooked canned tomatoes? I am reading recipes that call for "uncooked" tomato sauce, but I'm wondering if all canned tomatoes products aren't already cooked prior to canning. Thanks for your help.

I am pretty sure that the canning process requires cooking the tomatoes (i.e., the tomatoes inside the can must be heated to a level such to kill any bacteria -- which is essentially cooking).

All canned vegetables have to be heated to a certain temperature to prevent Botulism.
