My interest in pizza making at home increased as the lowest-common-denominator delivery pizza wiped out good local pizza places.  I'd heard temperature in home ovens is a problem and heard stories of people "modifying" their electric ovens so they could cook pizza while the oven is set to "clean".  One day while watching the backyard gas grill heat, I saw the temperature peg the thermometer at 800 degrees and I thought "pizza!".  I have been experimenting since.  We like to keep it really simple as pizza is our Friday-end-of-week-burnout dinner.  Too fussy and we're not going to do it.  I'm rambling so I'll stop.
