My name is Dennis. I live in the Sierra Nevada outside Nevada City CA. We have a vegetable garden in which we grow tomatoes, garlic, peppers, tomatillos, corn, melons, artichokes, asparagus, and 16 fruit trees. We preserve (dry-freeze or can) much of the food we eat during the year. We grow many varieties of peppers (about 70 last year) and process them into paprika, dried chili for salsas and chutneys. I am the primary cook in the family. My wife is an excellent cook but prefers to spend her time in our vegetable garden or her extensive ornamental garden. We enjoy many ethnic foods which we prepare mostly from scratch. My primary interest in this forum in the little black egg. For the past year I have made pizzas with some good results and some bad. I have read the posts on that thread 2007 to 2010 and was blown away by the energy, inventiveness and the general tenor of the people posting there. Thanks to those who make this site possible.
