Having lived in NYC in the 60's and 70's, I remember those wonderful street slices. My favorite spot didn't even have a sign with a name, just a neon sign with a triangular slice and wavy lines that blinked on and off, indicating heat.
For the last 30 years, I've been in the Pacific North West, and always in search of a good New York Slice. My goal is to master this style without a deck oven.
