A&P private label Via Roma mozzarella

So i was at my local pathmark last night and they had there private label via roma mozzarella 50% off since its sell by date was like a few days from now so i bought a 16oz knot. I have to say this mozzarella is the best ive ever had. Very stringy melted, low moisture, creamy (must be whole milk) doesnt burn in high heat (700F) and nice and salty ( i like a saltier flavor cheese).

It would be my only mozzarella if it wasnt for price. It cost me 3.50 for a 1 lb knot but it normally is 6.99. I wonder if anyone knows a comparable brand of what i described.

I really love this mozzarella. I just cant justify paying 7.00/lb. Theres got to be a cheaper way to get it. Anyway heres a pic of a 1 lb knot i purchased a few days ago.

I cant believe nobody has any experience on this cheese. Well to update, one of the 1/lb knots i bought recently gave me a nice water pool on my pizza. I had to soak it up with some bounty paper towels. Still tasted great, but im sticking to stella or maggio low moisture part skim from now on. Cheaper atleast.

I might just curing some slices in pickling/curing salt.

I note that all the specialty cheeses sold in the 'deli' departments of supermarkets on the east coast of the US have a high selling price. It is a big profit center for them.
