Logging in for a wealth of pizza info
« on: November 22, 2011, 02:25:11 PM »
Hello All....

A current lurker, but first time poster....

I am a relatively new pizza afecionado (sp.) trying to duplicate Chris Bianco's PIZZA ROSA AL BIANCO.. Perhaps a bit ambitious for a first timer..

My question is: What can I use to replace "Red Torpedo Onions"  I live in Vancouver, Canada and have no hope of finding them in this area...

As an alternative, I can get regular red onions...vidalia or walla sweets...or shallots...which of the foregoing should i use to approximate "Red Torpedo's"

I look forward to you all guiding me through the successes (and pitfalls) of pizza making...

That is pretty darn ambitious  ;D

I think regular red onions should be fine.

The bigger question, though, is whether or not you have the oven setup that can bake a pizza in 3 minutes.  If you don't have that, none of the ingredients will matter.
