apple sauce/yogurt for oil?
« on: December 11, 2011, 08:08:22 AM »
Has anyone tried substituting apple sauce and/or yogurt for oil in a dough recipe? You can often make the substitution in things like brownies, cakes, and muffins, which trpically have a lot more oil in them than pizza dough. I know it's probably a ridiculous question, but I just keep wondering about it... What would the outcome be???

Reply 3 here is a dough with yogurt, all yogurt. Very tasty.   http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,14086.0.html  Sorry, I don't have a pic of an applesauce pizza now but I recall it was a bit sweet for my taste, that may have been the brand I used. I have not made one since.

mmac06,

I didn’t try regular yogurt in a dough, but did try homemade milk kefir (which is something like yogurt) in a dough.  If you want the link let me know.
