OFF TOPIC, just out of curiosity...
« on: August 03, 2005, 12:35:07 PM »
Please don't rip me for asking this, but what is everyone's "day job" ?

I am always fascinated in my other hobbies by the people that are brought together over a common goal or interest.
I am curious if most of you are in food service or restaurant management, or from all different professional backgrounds?
I noticed the new member thread is a great place to say hi, but most people don't mention what they do, it goes straight to more important things.... PIZZA!

Thanks!

Franchisor of Cardsmart card and gift shops. Been in this business too long. Working on opening my own Pizza Restaurant, next year. Going with a Franchise called Vito and Nicks. Check it out at www.vitoandnicks.com . An old Chicago south side family owned pizzaria with a great product. Let me know your thoughts.

Brewmaster.  Although unfortunately currently unemployed.

I'd love to open a pizzeria, perhaps a pizzeria/brewpub.  It would be pretty easy to do if I only had the money!  ;-)
Man does not live by bread alone.  There's also tomato, cheese and pepperoni.

Small franchise, it could be a great growth opportunity in the right location.  Do they offer any help with site selection/area demographics/marketing?

Oh, and I've been a long time lurker here.  Haven't done the proper introductions.  But, love making/eating pizza.  Mostly mix doughs by feel, no set formula.  I sell commodities when I'm not making pizza!

Itsinthesauce,
What is it you are "buying" with the franchise?  I mean for you personally...?  Are you after the name, the product, the processes, the marketing support?  Are you in a location where name recognition will help you sell the product?

you mentioned people thought's, and I think what it is you are after in the franchise agreement that matter's quite a bit.  Best of luck with it, if you are in chicago I'd stop in sometime!

Pretty much. I'm actually helping out in that area, as that's what I do for Cardsmart. Biggest problem is high rents. You can pick your location, but these Landlords are nuts.

Welcome aboard!

Twice, Their name is well known on the South Side, but they are getting requests to open stores from many people who have relocated to other states...Fl, DE, CA, AZ, etc.

The product is excellent and support as well. Thanks for your thoughts.
