Unless you have found a perpetual source of energy, or a fuel that will get a million miles to the gallon, it will eventually burn out. Mike's suggestion was to soak it in water, with some soap, on the theory that the soap would cut the grease, and cause it to release from the pores. Did you see a scum of grease in the sink after a long soak - if so you can keep repeating until you no longer get scum coming off it. I don't think that simply washing it will be as effective, you really want it to be completely submerged in the detergent water mix. Putting it in the self clean cycle may be problematic since the door may stay locked shut for hours - and if the smoke is driving you out now it could be unbearable with no way to stop it. Keep at it, you will get it clean eventually.
