8/28/05 Community Oven Night at Weaver Street Bakery

The Weaver Street Bakery in Carrboro, NC will be holding a free,  "Open Oven" pizza- making workshop on Sunday, August 28th from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.   The dough mixing segment begins at 6:00 p.m.   Shaping and baking in their $70,000, steam injected,  multi- deck Italian oven is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  You are welcome to bring your own dough as well.

I've attached a picture of the type of oven Weaver Street Bakery uses.  It's made by Agiv Forni in Italy and is used to bake about 500 lbs. of bread each day.

Back in my old country bakers and pizza makers would also lend themselves to the community few times a year and in Christmas/ New Year period to bake those sucking pigs that require slow roasting.
I miss this dearly community living is the best to share among your neigbours
