Got my steel plate today. Went with 3/8 hot rolled steel due to weight issues. Seasoning it now and going to try it out tonite. Cost was $40 for a 14 x 17 plate.

The plate worked well. It seems to transfer the heat energy very well. The pizza cooked in 5-6 minutes depending on the toppings. I will post pics later as I'm having trouble with my phone. I do feel that the crust didnt have the crunch on its exterior that I've experience when using the stone. thoughts? Should I add a little more oil to the recipe? I'm using the "Tom Lehmann's dough tips for the amatuer pizza maker at home" recipe in post
