'ello from Belgium
« on: February 26, 2012, 04:00:26 PM »
Yes, Brussels sprouts and decent beer, that's where I'm from.
Poured the concrete slab for my oven this weekend so I figured it was time I said hello.
I've been toying around with pizza for a while: modding an old electric oven with firebricks and propane gas, messing with sourdoughs, the usual stuff. Anyway, it was time to upgrade to a wfo, and that's what I'm doing. I'm gonna try to mimic a Stefano Ferrara oven only it will be build outside and will be made of bricks instead of mosaic. Hence: today I poured a round slab. The goal is to vend pizza from my backyard on fridays for friends and neighbors at a ridiculous price. For some reason I like to cook large amounts of food, and that's the way I can satisfy that need.
Looking forward to keeping you guys posted and learning a lot.

That's cool.  I bet your neighbors can't wait.

btw, I just had a Westvleteren XII last night.

Good luck with your oven.

Nice, surprised you can get your hands on those. Bet they're not cheap. We drink St. Bernardus Abt when we feel like a Westvleteren 12, it's the same beer really, but without the mystique or hassle of driving to the monastery .
