Kudos to Pete-zza
« on: March 03, 2012, 08:44:26 PM »
I used to think that I was fairly knowledgeable about pizza. That is until I found this forum. Now I think, as Sgt. Shultz would say, "I know nothing!"

Being that this forum has been around for a while, it has accumulated an enormous amount of information. I have asked very few questions--not because I didn't have many, but because I've usually been able to find answers by searching the forum. On a forum this large, it is sometimes hard to find exactly what your looking for, but one thing that I've noticed is that in most of the real informative threads, there always seems to be one or more lengthy and very detailed posts by Pete-zza. These posts usually contain links to other applicable threads. Once I find one of his posts, I usually don't have to go back to my search results page because all of the pertinent information on the forum is linked right there within his posts. Quite amazing I think.

Anyway, thanks a lot Peter! I think that you are an incredible asset to the forum.

There are lots of other great contributors as well...too many to mention. Thanks everybody!

I originally came here just to figure out how to improve my oven spring without a high-temperature oven, and now I'm planning my WFO build...man am I hooked!

I am continually amazed by Pete-zza, after sharing lunch. He seemed very human indeed.  He has "both" a photographic, mesnomic, and plutonic memory.  I would not doubt that he is banned from Vegas for counting cards, counting drinks or knowing the odds of any poker card hand.  Peter is proud to keep stuff organized.  It is a small world after all. :-D

Don,

Thank you very much for the nice compliment. This is a great community of some very bright, talented, selfless and generous people. They are the ones who are active on the forum day to day and help create the content that has made this forum the best of its kind and attracts people from all around the world, both amateurs and professionals. It is those active members who deserve more recognition and accolades and threads named in their honor but rarely get it outside of the small group of members who have made this forum an important part of their lives. Unfortunately, the reality is that most of the people who come to the forum are only looking for help, whether it is to learn how to make pizzas or to make a better pizza, to build an oven, or simply to find recipes. To them, personalities and community are not important, but free access to information is, and they usually move on once their needs have been met.

Uh, yeah, what he said.

Your right Peter, there is without a doubt other people that deserve a lot of credit for the wealth of information here, but you are a great aggregator that makes navigating through all of it much easier. All that and the mesno-pluto crap that Jet mentioned--you're amazing!
