Seeing all those fish caught makes me a cringe a bit but I have to remember fishing is different there then where I live. If everyone in Idaho took their daily limit on the streams and rivers we would be out of fish in a week.

I fish 100% catch and release in fresh water.

Ya I understand, like I said it's just I'm so used to one way when I see all those fish my brain thinks the way it thinks around here. I know the ocean is very different. Do you fly fish it all? I think I may want to get into it when I move back to LA next month.

A little, but mostly for sunfish here in the lakes. It's not much of a challenge - nothing like trout fishing.

Southern Ontario. Just a couple hours North of the border. A couple small lakes where it is not uncommon for us to be the only people to fish them all year. The nearest town in Upsala.
There are tons of little lakes in that area. I have a friend that lives near Thunder Bay. He has taken me fishing on several of these lakes where you don't see anyone else all day. Just curious, how did you find this lake?

We're 2 hours west of Thunder Bay. We've been fishing the same lakes for 20 years. A friend of mine originally found them.

Google has been bugging me for months to move my Google vids to Youtube.  I only had a couple of short ones of sailfishing in Guatemala, so I moved them:

Some great fishing in Guatemala for sure.

That first video when the marlin was heading towards the boat reminded me of something I saw on "When animals attack". A woman was fishing for marlin and this thing was huge. She starting reeling it in and once it started getting closer to the boat it jumped out of the water and speared her through her abdomen and went all the way through he leg.

Anyways, you guys have awesome lives.

The boys and I spent the week up in Canada catching smallies. All catch and release (except for a few we eat). Altogether, we caught close to 700 for the week.

Thought I would share a decent fish I caught the other day. 17 inch cutthroat caught on a streamer.

Largemouth bass, speckled trout, and redfish.
Been doing it all my life when I can, which is way too infrequently these days.

Little bro fished Poco this year, the boat got second in points but no money ($465,000 first place for kills), they released two blues just under 200# each.  They won second in the pay couple of years ago.  I haven't been since 1986, but it is a hell of a tournament.

Craig

Love the smallies, looks like you had a great trip. I was resently on the St. Lawrence but things were slow, water is unusually warm this year. Have been getting some nice largemonth close to home, have posted a few pictures on the Serious Eats Water Cooler facebook page.

The smoked ones look tasty too, I would probably like them better than the fried ones.  I have had them dry smoked and they were the schnitz.
