Norma, we know what you did to our mouse cousins, never return to Chuckie Cheese again!
The Big Rat
The Big Rat (Dave),
I think I would be banished from Chuck E. Cheese long before the fews days ago I killed those mice. My first husband and I owned (or were purchasing) an apartment house in Lancaster when my children were young (I only had two children at the time). We lived in the second and third floors. I had to go down the outside back steps to be able to do my wash in the basement. There were no light switches after I had to lift up the outside doors and then go down more steps to open another door. The lights could only be turned on in the basement from cords. There was a light with a cord right near my washer and when I went to turn it on, there was a big rat staring right at me.

It wasn’t a pretty sight, but the hairs on my arms stood-up and I had goose pimples all over. We didn’t know what to do about the rat, but a neighbor lady was a hog (but a very nice lady) and left all her dirty dishes and pans out on her back porch. We watched and saw rats coming out of the drainage sewer grate in her cement pavement. Before long, we had more rats and could I hear them in our walls at nighttime. Luckily, my father came in and put all kinds of stuff around to kill those rats and even set those big rats traps. My father said rats hate broken glass, so he also put some of the broken glass around where he could find rat droppings. He found a place in the foundation of the apartment house that he also patched up. We did get rid of those sewer rats, but I never forgot about them. Those rats looked like monsters to me.

Edit: I also forgot to post when the rats got really bad, one night I went into the kitchen and saw a rat drop out of a space near the bottom cabinets in the kitchen. The whole kitchen was knotty pine. I had my portable sewing machine right at the kitchen door. I don't know how I did it (because the portable sewing machine was very heavy), but I threw that sewing machine across the whole kitchen and it was a big kitchen to try to scare the rat. The rat did go back where it came from. That was when my father came in to try to take care of the rats. I still have that portable sewing machine and it still works, but now I dread getting it out because it is so heavy.
