As I promised in the American Style Pizza forum:
http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,18418.0.htmlThese are photos from a family visit to the Round Table Pizza restaurant in Gridley, CA on March 22, 2012. In the Midwest where I grew up, we did not have Round Table restaurants, but the style of pizza is very much like the kind of pizza I grew up with. Unfortunately, still living in the Midwest, I am lucky if I get to a eat an RT pizza once a year. In any event, this was a must-stop for us as soon as we arrived in California, so feast your eyes on these photos. My rating: ****

What makes Round Table so good? Thin, crackery-like crust, tangy sauce, good blend of cheese, and fresh toppings. Also, they STILL make their dough on site - no frozen dough balls. One potential downside (for me) is they use those conveyor ovens, but more recently I have not found them to be as bad at generating the proper amount of heat. Anyway, check out the sausage-n-mushroom and Hawaiian pizzas we gorged ourselves on for lunch.
