Menus for your guests at home
« on: April 04, 2012, 03:10:14 PM »

I always do a colored, printed menu for our guests...It includes how Neapolitan pizzas are made, the history and tidbits of what is homemade or small batch...I was going to include a sample, but it had too much memory for this site...Just an idea...

Sounds really cool.  It would certainly save anyone here (that wanted to use all or parts of it)  That would be cool if you could find someway to share it.  I certainly would enjoy seeing what you have created...

I used to do that. It's been years though. I put them on the internet - here is the last one I did: http://lindbergs.us/menu - the file is dated July 2009.

Please post yours. I'd love to see it.

We used to have a rotating dinner club that I did menus for.  I have been considering a chalk board for the ODK.

Randy- making menus for your guests at home sounds just like what a fancy person from coeur d'alene would do haha JK! I live in SE Idaho and the people here are definitely different. But I think that is a cool Idaho, you should just post the file on a google doc or somewhere and share the link.

I actually started going to school in Rexburg, and then got caught up in other stuff delaying my education, so now I have been living in the area for 7 years. I don't go to poky really, except for driving through, I just go to IF or drive all the way to SLC.

Sadly I just took up fly fishing last year, wish I would have done that a bit earlier.

Here's the text from the last menu I put together.  It's a Google Docs document so it lost the formatting when I copy and pasted.

The Bubba Shrimp
Pesto, grilled shrimp and bacon topped with mozzarella, feta and quartered cherry tomato.

The Margarita
This one is a classic!  All Hail the Queen! That means you too Kevin!
Olive oil and crushed fresh garlic, topped off with mozzarella, roma tomato and julienned basil.
Pairs perfectly with a glass of Chianti.

The Oh Hell Yeah!
Garlic cream cheese, pepperoni and red onion topped with mozzarella, parmesan and basil.

The BBQ Chicky Chick
California pizza claims they invented this, but I don’t think so... seriously, I did it first!
BBQ sauce, grilled chicken and red onion topped with fontina cheese  and basil.

The Ricky Ricotta
Oh Ricky you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind hey Ricky... Ricotta!
A ricotta, garlic and spinach base topped with tomato, shrimp, scallion, mozzarella and basil.

The Mediterranean Pie
Marinara sauce, ground pork, green olives, black olives, capers and yellow onion topped with mozzarella, peppercorn feta and thyme.

The Hawaii Five-Ohhh
Book ‘em Dan-O!
Marinara sauce, Canadian bacon and crushed pineapple. Cheese? Ask nice.

The Boomer Sooner Pie
You guessed it, this one is all red.  Red sauce, red meat and red veggies.  Go Sooners!
Marinara sauce, ground beef, pepperoni, red onion and sun dried tomato with your choice of cheese(s).

The Veggie
Your choice of sauce with zucchini, tomato, onion and mushrooms.  Topped with your choice of cheeses and herbs.

The Asian
Sweet Hoisin sauce, grilled chicken and jalapenos topped with mozzarella and scallions.

The Nutty Pear
Honey base with pear, glazed walnuts and Gorgonzola topped with creamy Harvarti and honey drizzle.

The White Pizza
Alfredo sauce and garlic topped with mozzarella, smoked gouda and parmesan cheeses.

The Roll Your Own
Don’t see what you like?  Substitute ingredients or build your own from the selection of fresh toppings.

Thanks ski9600... Actually, you're in luck.  My oven arrives tomorrow and I'll put it together this weekend and season it next week.  Next weekend will be pizza time!
