At Manco and Manco I saw the pieman open two dough balls at once.  That was amazing to see.

I also posted videos at Mack’s Pizza and Manco and Manco at Reply 992 http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/topic,9068.msg181228.html#msg181228 of how the pieman opened the dough balls two at a time and also the piemen tossing the skins.

Norma, thanks for sharing your pictures.  I like a crispy slice.  They all look great, especially the first and
last (Sam's and Manco?), both look like the kinda of bottom crust that I like.   Of the 3 which was the crispiest?  Can you rank them in order of most favorite?  I'm sure they were all good.

Chau,

Sam’s, Mack’s and Manco and Manco pizza was all good and crispy.  I would have to say Sam’s crust was the crispest.  For my tastes Mack’s would be number one, Manco and Manco number two and Sam’s number three.

All three pizza businesses started back in the 1950’s.  I never tasted Sam’s or Manco and Manco pizzas before, and also ate Mack’s pizza exclusively whenever I visited the shore, so that is why Saturday I decided to also try Sam’s and Manco and Manco.  All three pizza businesses started from owners that lived in Trenton, NJ.  I probably am biased, and sure don’t know which are the best slices, but Mack’s pizza is still my favorite.  Mack’s is probably my favorite of all NY style pies I have ever eaten.  I don’t know if that comes from nostalgic reasons, or if Mack’s pizza really is that good.  As a child I also ate Mack’s pizza when it was still being baked in a deck oven.  I really liked the crust at Sam’s and also at Manco and Manco.  Sam’s Pizza reminds me of a pizzeria that used to be good in our area called Papa Dino’s.  Manco and Manco also was really good.  They all had crisp crusts on Saturday.

These links are about Sam’s, Mack’s and Manco and Manco pizzas.

I like the cheese on Mack’s and Manco and Manco better than Sam’s.

This is a review on Slice from Adam Kuban about Sam’s and Mack’s pizza http://slice.seriouseats.com/archives/2006/08/in_wildwood_new_jersey_its_macks_vs_sams.html

As can be seen in that article there are at least as many pizzerias in Wildwood as there are in any given street in Manhattan.  As can been seen in those links of the photos Sams’s bottom crust didn’t look like what I had at Sam’s.

Few other foods I ate when I visited Wildwood and Ocean City and a few more pics.  I didn’t take pictures of all the food I ate, but it was way too much. Maybe all the walking on the boards and the beach did help some.  :)

I always enjoy the beach, boardwalk, salty ocean air, food on the boardwalk and the seagulls.
