Levon Helm.....One of the greatest ever

RIP.....Levon Helm, one one the greatest of rock music of the 60's and 70's and to present day with his daughter Ollabelle (Amy Helm) . If you have a chance, rent, watch, "The Band, The Last Waltz". It is some music history that will never be repeated. Directed by Martin Scorsese in 1976 that headlined The Band that played backup to about 10 other rock greats besides themselves....AWESOME. When asked Why they were doing a farewell concert at the top of their game they said....because they wanted to go out on top!

Yeah, what a shame. Gone too soon. I never saw the Band perform live but I've seen "The Last Waltz". I expect it'll be on TV somewhere before you know it. I have a friend in N.Y. who has been to Levon's home a couple times for his "Midnight Rambles". Special times.
