I have a aluminum placing peel from GI Metal but I never use it, because I have a beautiful peel made by Bill (wheelman), out of mahogany, and it smooth as silk placing pizzas. I am hoping it continues to darken over the years.

That is one awesome looking peel! I need to get one made like that, it makes my little Bed, Bath and Beyond one look quite puny! Beautiful job on that build for sure.

wow, I want one. What is the width of the peel? Is it pretty easy to maneuver into the mouth of the P70?

The Bill peel is the official peel of The Garage. It's right up there with the Acunto as one of my most beautiful possessions. Up next on the the to-do list is to route out out a section of the prep table to fit so that pies can be easily slid on to it.

Slightly under 1/2". I'm going to plane mine down by about 3/16" so I can inlay it in the prep table.

It's going to be at an angle where about 2/3 of the head will be inlaid but almost none of the handle.

I feel out-of-place for not having posted here a picture of me holding the wonderful mahogany pizza peel that dear Bill kindly crafted for me. I will need to have the honor of taking a picture with the peel (which turns my raw, wet pizzas into hovercrafts) when I launch a pizza inside the Ferrara oven at Bruno. Thanks y'all but i'm just an amateur! I had an amazing piece of wood and i sent a few peels out to the people who have been so helpful to me in my quest to make Neo pizza. it's quite an honor to have those guys who are making pizzas as good as anyone in the world using those simple peels!
